QUICK LIT BITE OF THE DAY!
ottava rima-A type of poetry consisting of 10- or 11-syllable lines arranged in 8-line “octaves” with the rhyme scheme abababcc.
Examples of ottava rima are: John Hookham Frere; 1817-8 poem "Prospectus and Specimen of an Intended National Work" and Byron's "Don Juan (1819-1824), which is probably the best-known English poem in ottava rima.
