The Plague: Illiteracy
Illiteracy is like the plague that keeps growing in our communities. It plagues the minds of young people and keeps the minds of older people not knowing. No one is really paying attention to this mind eating plague that continues to ravish our communities, individuals and our society. Why can’t anyone see it? It’s standing right there in front of our faces and eating our minds like a flesh eating bacteria. Yes, a flesh eating bacteria that tears up the mind and body and leaves it empty like a shell on the beach. It seems no one is fighting against it, just for it. It continues to thrive and live like a disease that spreads from person to person. It’s intergenerational and thriving to be a force that we cannot take down. Societies, individuals, children and government are loosing the battle against this beast. It has creped slowly but surely into every country, state, city, and small town and no one seems to care. This plague of beast is out of control and until we win the battle with ourselves we will not win the battle against illiteracy.
